I think little Jayla may have won my heart during this session. She was the sweetest baby, and what can I say she was a dream to photograph! She was so cooperative, and sleepy that we were able to use some of the new girl props we had in the studio. Thank you so much Jamie for bringing your family to the studio. It was my pleasure to capture your baby girl as a newborn, they grow and change so quickly, I’m happy you will have these pictures on your wall to remember your first weeks together!

Being in the photography industry, I obviously have a huge passion for pictures. I love when clients see an image of their child that they love so much that they would want to make it a piece of art in their home.  They are so excited about this picture and can’t wait to share it with their family and friends. Well, part of my job as your photographer is to help you purchase the right size for the space you wish to decorate with the images from  your session. It is also my job to help you decide on how you want to present those favorite images. So when you come into the studio to view your slideshow and place your order, I do not want you to feel worried about ordering the wrong size, or wrong image, or wrong product. I will help you come to that decision and it’s not nearly as painful as you think :) Believe me! So when deciding on the right size for a wall portrait, it’s important to know which wall or space you are decorating. I want to share a link to a photographer who posted an awesome blog entry about print sizes, and she has some great images to go along with it. Please, if you have ANY questions at all with regards to what size you should order, do not hesitate to discuss that with one of us, after all, that is what we are here for =) http://amyrophotography.com/blog/bigger-really-is-better-version-2-0-rhode-island-photography/

It was a pleasure to see Charlene in the studio for maternity session #2! Her family is as sweet as can be, and her new baby boy was the perfect baby model! Big sister is sooo proud and without a doubt will be so helpful for mom and dad with her baby brother. I loved seeing her eyes light up when she would talk about him =) We know how excited you were to share these with your friends and family Charlene, we hope they enjoy the images as much as we do!

Introducing baby Mya, at 12 days new.  She has the most perfect lips, and when sleeping looks just like a doll.  I do believe she already has mommy and daddy (and her grandparents) wrapped around her little pinky ;)

Have you noticed there’s a baby boom in Whitecourt? Chances are good you know a few new mom’s around town, or moms to be! The studio has met with many new babies over the last two months and I can’t wait to share some of the beautiful images we captured from these sessions. As you have probably noticed we almost always share one image shortly after a session has been held (with your permission). We LOVE when you like your sneek peak so much that you want to make it your profile picture and you absolutely have our permission to do so. We simply ask that the image remain ‘as is’ with the copyright logo in place. If you ‘friend’ us on facebook then we can tag you in the image and your family and friends on facebook can then see and enjoy the picture as well.

After working with so many newborns lately, we also want to take this opportunity to stress the importance of bringing your newborn to be photographed within their first two weeks. You would not believe the difference it makes in posing a sleepy  newborn, and how much more relaxing the session can be for mom and dad. If you or someone you know is expecting and is interested in having a newborn session done, please share this tip with them. =)

You may have noticed (if you have called the studio or been in the studio for a recent session) that Adrienne has been assisting during sessions and doing some behind the scenes work. This has been going very well, and you can look forward to some new changes that Tanya Rae Photography will be introducing in the next few months. We are so excited about these changes, and it seems that working together has created a whole new level of energy and excitement! We are having a lot of fun sharing ideas and having that extra help means more time to implement those new ideas.

Sorry for this very long blog post, if you made it this far you are in luck, because you are about to meet the very sweet and adorable baby Payton. With her sweet locks of baby fine hair and gorgeous parents, she was a dream to photograph!

Thanks Tanya it’s a beautiful picture of my little angel

Prezlie

January 22, 2011

Little Prezlie was a bit older than the other newborns I photograph.   Typically at 5 weeks a baby is not as sleepy and doesn’t “curl” as well, this was exactly what happened. As a matter of fact she was downright bright eyed and smiley!  We weren’t able to get as many sleepy shots but we were able to get some direct eye contact and even some giggles!!

Back on the blog!

January 19, 2011

Well as part of my New Year’s resolutions I promised myself that I would start posting on my blog once again and do it on a regular basis.  Well here it is January 19th and I am just getting to it!

The “Image of the Year”  contest on the Facebook page was great fun and a overwhelming success! I really never expected it to go over so well.  Thanks to everyone who voted, I will likely make it a yearly event.

I am working on getting my facebook page updated with a “Welcome” page that will feature Tanya Rae Photography’s Image of the Year for 2010.  Also a cool new profile pic!

Check back soon for a blog post featuring baby Prezlie!!
